CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte Mecklenburg District Attorneys office spokeswoman Meghan Cooke has announced the Nov. 17 jury trial involving Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy has been moved to 2015.Cooke said in a release Tuesday that a new trial date has not been set. Several media outlets reported last week the trial would be moved.Hardy is appealing his July 15 conviction on charges of assault on a female and communicating threats. The Panthers placed Hardy on the exempt-commissioners permission list Sept. 17 and he cannot play for Carolina until his situation is resolved.The release says the courts docket is filled with cases still being heard, prompting the move. The Raptors stepped up on the defensive end to overcome a 52-44 halftime deficit, holding Orlando to a mere 30 points while forcing 12 turnovers over the final two quarters to earn their 10th straight win over the Magic. Orlando shot just 37.1 percent in the second half after hitting at a 59 percent clip prior to the break. Williams and Kyle Lowry each made big impacts as well, with the latter tallying 11 of his 17 points after intermission in addition to dishing out eight assists.
